For the love of Photography

It's been a long time since I posted on my blog.  I've been focusing my attention on the wedding industry.  After looking through some pics from last year, it made me miss being spontaneous with my camera.  My goal is to bring out the camera more and really enjoy my love for photography.  I love to capture the unexpected.  So here's some of my faves from the past.

Leyton's birthday month

I love January...

One main reason is because this is the month God blessed me with my first born son.  What a miracle he was and is to his mommy and daddy.  I remember being up with him in the middle of the night right after he was born.  I looked down into his little eyes and thought "he is perfect".  Looking back, he had a slight cone head, little bumps on his nose and a scratch down his cheek from his fingernails but all I could see was how wonderful he was:))  My baby will be 7 years old this month.  He is as strong willed, sweet and stubborn as he was in my tummy and I love every bit of him.  Leyton has such a strong personality and wears his emotions on his sleeve.  He's the toughest and most tender hearted child I know.  One minute he will be telling you everything on his mind (good and bad) and the next minute he's asking what we can do to help hurting children in Africa.  I have never met a child quite like my Leyton and that makes me thankful.  He is one of a kind.  He's mine.  He's his daddy's son.  He's the best big brother.  He is our gift from God.  We prayed and fasted and prayed some more for this little guy.  The doctors were astounded when we saw him on the ultrasound.  It took so much to get him here and it was worth every tear.  I am one blessed mother.  Thankful for my boys.

Happy Birthday Month Leyton Christopher Erwin.

Mom

A few of my favorite things...

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  My littles are so excited about Christmas.  They love EVERYTHING about this time of year.  Hot Cocoa, lights, CANDY, gingerbread houses, cookie decorating, making ornaments and more!  The night that I captured these priceless (to me) pictures, we were having a relaxing night at home.  The boys were allowed to watch a movie on my ipad.  They snuggled in together and I glanced over my shoulder and literally tears filled my eyes.  This is Christmas to us.  Not the hustle and bustle, but the sweet moments spent together all because of Jesus.  Of course, I quietly got out my camera and snapped away.  The funny thing is, no one asked, "what are you doing."  They just continued being sweet, watching their movie.  I guess it's their "norm", me documenting their life;)  I have been blessed this year with precious moments.  I am so thankful.  We are in the process of expanding our family through adoption.  This may very well be our last year as a family of four.  But we are ready and expectant.  The Erwin's will soon be a family of five.  We are all so excited.  I can't wait to see my boys with a sister.  What a capable Princess she will be.
Thank you Jesus for ALL of this.

Merry Christmas.

New adventures-INdoors

I love outdoor photography because I love natural lighting.  I also adore being outdoors!  Is there anything better than FRESH air!  One of my many passions is photographing my children in their environment.  It's where I get the most creative and I allow them to just BE kids!  I have conversations with them while they are splashing in the bath tub or are playing intensely with their trains.  I am able to capture their expressions and these are the moments I never want to forget.  I am now offering this service to my clients!  I would love to come to your home (big or small or even MeSsY) and capture your environment in action.  We would still be able to capture family portraits in a more comfortable environment.  AND think, you can even go to your very own bathroom and TOUCH UP!!  AHHH!  Now that is every woman's dream!  I would treat this opportunity like I would approach a wedding.  Details of your everyday life!  I am getting excited just typing!

I am offering a $25 discount to the first 5 people that would like to go on this adventure with me!

I am so excited about this!

Lots of love,

Rachel E.
